Internet-Based Interactions w/ Bands...
I thought it would be fun to start a thread sharing some of our experiences with internet-based interactions involving different bands. Here are a few of mine:

1) Dead Poetic- sent myspace mail to Dusty, Zach and Jesse a few
months after "Vices" came out, suggesting that if they
toured, they play the new album in it's entirety, and all 3
of them emailed me back in detail, sharing their thoughts
on the idea and mentioning some of the problems they
were having with touring.

2) Marcos Curiel- happened to catch him on Myspace the day before his
New Year's Eve Reunion performance with P.O.D. and
chatted with him for 20 mins. He was really down-to-
earth and actually shared how nervous he was to be
playing with the guys again.

3) Spoken- always email back with cool responses to questions and
ideas in a timely fashion.

4) Joby Harris (Crash Rickshaw)- very cool with replying to messages on
myspace.

5) Mark Salomon (Stavesacre) - cool with myspacce chatting and
messages.

6) Pillar- although I'm not a huge fan of their music, they have always
been really good at emailing people back and interacting with
their message board on an almost daily basis.

7) Project 86 - while Andrew, Randy, and Steve are really cool to talk
with live at shows....they have yet to reply to any
myspace message, email or chat invite that I have ever
sent. Perhaps one day!

I have received one reply out of over a dozen messages/questions sent over the past year or so via myspace, and that was with regards to The Kane Mutiny about 2 days after Rival Factions was released. However, I took an outside shot and sent a message to Randy's personal myspace, and we actually had a bit back & forth messaging earlier this week. He even called my avatar cool (look to the left of this post).

Other bands? Let's see....

Red Letter Bullet: These guys have always been very prompt in responding to messages on myspace, and as such have earned a great deal of my respect. Not the greatest band in the world, but the extra effort to reach out & communicate with people online certainly won't hurt their chances for the future.

Spoken: I've only sent them one internet-based piece of communication, but they were quick to get back to me with some advice on what to do (it was regarding the noticeable absence of their new album in local stores).

Joby Harris: Like P86Ninja above stated, Joby is a very cool guy to talk to. He's even permitted me to send him some writing samples via his e-mail account, to which he provided some good points for improvement. It's strange that he just deleted his myspace page last week though...
(BTW: New Crash Rickshaw CD is being promised by November, so keep an eye out for that.)

Nothing real special, Staple, Project 86, Marcos Cruiel, War of Ages/Rot Strum, and Living Sacrifice. I think my favorite was Khang from Rot Strum, he's just a cool dude.
