Living Sacrifice is Back
Yeah, weird huh? The majority of the post-Reborn lineup minus Matt Puttman is back in the latest incarnation of LS. I haven't listened to these dudes since early last year, but I'm really looking forward to this. Other than Extol, LS is the only Christian metal band that matters. Becoming The Archetype showed promise with their first album, but really sucked the second time around.

I would have liked to seen Fitzhugh (Lead Vocals), Truby (Rythem Guitar), Rocky (Lead Guitar), Garvin (Drums) and DJ (Bass/Vocals), but this is much better than nothing. The band has said they will release an album this year and tour this summer.

What the fuck is Truby so busy with. Damn.

From the Living Sacrifice Wikipedia page:
The Hammering Process, with a more rhythmic sound influenced by Meshuggah.

Living Sacrifice influenced by Meshuggah? I'm not sure what little Johnny was smoking when he wrote that, but I hear no traces of Meshuggah in Living Sacrifice. The Hammering Process was a good album by the way.

I love these guys. Unfortunetely I discovered them after they had already broken up. I hope some of their summer touring hits Minnesota.

I used to listen to them.
Haven't in a while.
So this could be interesting.

Living Sacrifice is going to tour with Demon Hunter this summer. What a shame, LS opening for a crappy Christian Nu-Metal band. Demon Hunter is really cocky, they made Zao open for them two years ago, now LS.

Recently Mastodon opened for Neurosis. Sure, Mastodon is way more popular and successful (sales wise) than Neurosis right now, but without Neurosis, Mastodon, and a ton of other bands (mainly ambient metalers) would sound very different, if they were to ever form without the influence of Neurosis. Sad a Christian band can't make the same move and allow the band with the history headline.

Muad'Dib- 02-10-2008

On the other hand, Mastodon would not exist at all without Neurosis, where as in the example of Demon Hunter... they've been around for quite some time (in a much better form RIP TFU) and they're exposing these 'opening bands' to a larger audience.

P.O.D. had LS open for them back during the promotional run for FEOS. That's an easier pill to swallow because it was P.O.D., they were on TRL and went platinum. If LS hadn't been MIA for a good portion of 2003-2008, they probably could headline at the same venues DH can get into (at least based off what DH played in Philly).

I just hate how DH commands such a large group and they really only made one good album, and even then, it's nu-metal, so it's nothing groundbreaking.

Next DH tour in 2010 will feature Extol as the opening act.

Somewhat related to LS, Soul Embraced has a new album out on the 29th. Lance and Rocky are both in SE.
