Nightmare Before Christmas 3D I never saw this movie before, but I had a slight interest to see why it's all the rage amongst the Hot Topic kids, but that's not why I saw this. My sister wanted somebody to with her, and I was curious to see how the new 3D technology works, so I took her up on the offer.
The movie itself was lame, I hate musicals, so no big surprise that I didn't care for a movie with singing Halloween creatures. The 3D effects were minimal, I think that most of the 3D's power was displayed in the 10 second teaser in which the background slightly moved, wispy cloud like numbers appeared right in front of you for the count down and the jack o lantern jumped right out, but I didn't notice many 3D effects in the actual film.
The lenses are different from the traditional Red/Blue style. They were tinted grey and curved inward towards you. I took a look at the screen a few times without the lenses on and the screen was brighter and the images overlapped each other, like the red/blue lines on a 3D comic. There is a Brandon Frasier movie coming out using the 3D technology, it seemed to be more detailed, but very cheesy. I'd see that if it weren't so kid friendly. The scene in which he falls into the water was cool because all the bubbles just stand right out.
