Lately, faith has felt like waterboarding...it's torture.
If I have another worst year of my life, all I can say is I tried. But, 4 years in a row, that's not looking up.
The existential pillars are crumbling. While strange, strange coincidences have happened, which have been encouraging, the pressure is worse.
This is an awkward dilemma when obedience to G-d is my very death here. I understand the "fear and trembling" but Kierkeguaard and I will diverge paths.
A large portion of the christian church emphasizes joy in your life at all times. I haven't been there since age 5. Currently, the joy crew is pulling me towards the destruction of my faith, or at least obedience. Not that they don't believe maybe we're all just too human. How does that fit into faith?
I have never once since I have recognized christianity as truth...understood anything to be about my happiness. If as they said in church today its about G-d as my creator.
That being said the level of unhappiness I feel is extraordinary. Aristotle can have his happiness. I think I would settle for a low unhappy and understanding this is not my home, and I could never fit in, in a world like this....blah,blah,blah
But this is not do-able.
I hope I don't get struck by any plagues or curses. And I say that in all sincerity.
I do not like track 3 of project's album. I skip it. Some people said it was their favorite.

What you are hearing when many churches say you should be happy and always joyful is the prosperity gospel, which is false.
The truth is that accepting God as your father and following him often leads to a more difficult life. |

That seems true. I certainly don't seek comfort though having chosen a difficult path, because of my faith.
My issue currently is some sustainability. I'm being assaulted at work. At home. At church. Uhhh.....G-d throw me a bone I can't do this alone! How bout that?
